WINTER SKINCARE SAVIOURS

Baby, It’s Cold Outside…

Brrrr! Winter is finally here. It’s been 0-degree mornings for the past few days and my skin is definitely starting to feel it, so I’ve been pulling together from my skincare stash some essentials to start the day off right! My skin goes super dry, super tight… and it’s not a good feeling. Does anyone else have the same problem? If so, keep reading as I have some great products from amazing brands that you MUST try. Everything from cleansers, to moisturisers, to treatments… I have it all here.

Bull Dog Original Body Lotion

First up on the list is the incredible Bull Dog Original Body Lotion (£6.80) from maleskin.co.uk. This has been mentioned previously on The G Edit because it’s one of those products that’s so so simple but gives you exactly what you want from it – and I LOVE IT. It’s lightweight, soothing and keeps your body hydrated without that sticky/tacky feeling a lot of moisturisers leave behind. Packed with 8 essential oils, cocoa butter, aloe vera and avocado oil – it’s perfect to give your skin that essential boost of goodness. Maleskin.co.uk is where I get the majority of my skincare from. It’s perfect if you’re looking for the right products specific for Men’s skin. They have a huge range of global brands, which makes finding the right product easy! Check it out here: maleskin.co.uk

Fit Skincare Stress Less Repair Serum

Sometimes the cold comes a little unexpected, so it can start to damage your skin before you have the chance to prevent it. This is where my next product comes in handy. The Fit Skincare Stress Less Repair Serum (£40) is perfect for someone like me who has a busy lifestyle. If you have fine lines, uneven skin tone, signs of wrinkles, tightness… this one is for you. It’s gel-based solution sinks straight into the skin, instantly hydrating (again, perfect for Winter) and toning your skin. Now for the ingredients! It has Hexapeptide 11 (I’d be lying if I said I actually knew what that was) but I do know that it reduces the appearance of fine lines by increasing your skin’s elasticity. It also contains Botanical extracts for enhanced moisture and to repair the damage, creatine, which increases and evens your skin tone and finally, OXY-FIT-10 which helps your skin cells regenerate. It’s a little more pricey but when you see the results, totally worth it!

SCRUBD Energising Face Wash

So you’ve had a long day at work, seen some friends on the evening for dinner and you’re finally home winding down. Your skin’s been through a lot battling the elements throughout the day so you want something super gentle to cleanse, wash and clean your face in the evening. I’m totally loving the SCRUBD Energising Face Wash. The first thing I noticed about SCRUBD when they kindly sent me this product was the quality of their packaging. It has such a premium feel which made first impressions 10/10 – especially when it’s only £22! It contains Aloe Vera, Vitamin A, C and E, Peppermint and Bergamot for a skincare cocktail, helping to soften, nourish, regenerate and energise. I feel so fresh and ready for bed once I’ve finished using this. Because it’s so gentle and calming on my skin, it’s amazing for this time of year.

Garnier PureActive Intensive

Now, unfortunately, my skin isn’t perfectly clear, so I do need a treatment from time to time. A lot of skincare spot/blemish treatments work by drying out the affected area, but in Winter this is no good! This is why I ALWAYS go for the Garnier PureActive Intensive Spot Control Corrector. It’s a cream/gel based treatment that you use for each individual spot or blemish, and it keeps me hydrated whilst simultaneously treating the problem area at the same time. You can also use this morning and evening, so I tend to put some on after I’ve moisturised on a morning then before bed on an evening too. It costs only £4.99 and because only a little bit of the product is needed, it lasts for ages.

PROVERB Hydration Pro Moisturiser

Last but not least, I’ve got my day-to-day moisturiser that was definitely worth a mention. I’ve been using the PROVERB Hydration Pro Moisturiser (£55) every day for the past month and it’s amazing for my face and neck. When I say neck, I’ve been using this as a kind of post-shave balm as well as on my face and it’s been working really well. I usually get quite a bit of irritation but the quality of this formula has really helped get rid of any redness/rashes whilst keeping my face super hydrated and nourished. It contains a bunch of complex amino acids which help soothe, protect and strengthen my skin. You can definitely feel the quality of this product and I can’t wait to try more of the amazing PROVERB collection.

And that sums up my Winter skincare solutions for this bitter cold weather! Protecting your skin around this time of year is so important, so take a look at the products above, head down to local stores to test them out and see what you think! What skincare solutions do you have during Winter? I’d love to know what your go-to products are!
