Predominantly white, with hints of colour… which mostly comes from the tree. That is what my idea of Christmas decor is. I take so much inspiration from places like The White Company, West Elm and John Lewis, because to me interiors is all about embracing the little things… statement accessories, personal touches.

I love white walls and neutral tones, because I believe a home becomes a home when you add your own personal touch. For example, what sofa you choose, what style dining chairs, what artwork you place around the home etc. White walls allow this to stand out and shine. Christmas decor is exactly the same, so let’s go through my Inspiration for this year.

When browsing through Pinterest, the images that have stood out to me most are the ones where there is a real Christmas tree, white walls and linen. I love throws, blankets and cushions, anything that brings warmth to your room. When I’ve been looking at the trees in these photos, I’ve been drawn to the ones kept most basic. Simplistic decorations, usually silver, white or brass. These kind of elements keep the tree looking natural and most alive. There’s something about plants in a home. It makes the house breath and fresh. I think it’s mentally soothing and brings peace to a house. Do you agree?

Feeling inspired?
