It’s that time again where I lay down the latest releases at The Body Shop and boy have they got some incredible products ready to hit the shelves. The skincare world is all about masks, masks, masks. After the launch of L’Oreal Pure Clay, beauty enthusiasts are going mask crazy and now, thing’s have just got even better.
The Body Shop are now at the front of the game with face masks, introducing 5 new beauties that I can say are officially…. BRILLIANT. On my visit to The Metro Centre Body Shop, they gave me a hands on experience trying these new releases out for myself. Packed with really special ingredients, 100% vegetarian and super effective on the skin, I can’t wait to tell you all about them. Similarly to the L’Oreal masks, these are designed to be used along side each other, targeting different areas of your face for personal concerns. I really like how the whole multi-masking technique is big right now, as it’s the perfect way to really make the most out of your masks.
The range contains (£15 each);
- Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask
- British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask
- Amazonian Acai Energising Radiant Mask
- Ethiopian Deep Nourishing Honey Mask
- Chinese Ginseng Rice Clarifying & Polishing Mask
I decided to go for a combination targeting tired skin, the perfect concoction for someone who works hard all week and needs a good skin detox on the weekend! At the store, I was seated and cleansed before Kate the manager first checked my skin type with their cleaver testing patches. This checks the oiliness of your skin allowing you to match products more accurately. My T-Zone tends to be the moist…. let’s say, greasy… so The Himalayan Charcoal Mask was the ideal starting point. Kate applied the mask around my T-Zone to draw out the impurities from my skin leaving my complexion clear and blemish free. This mask is perfect for removing any pollution build up, dirt and grime. It’s the perfect detoxifying formula and has a very satisfying cooling sensation when applied.
Next we went in with the British Rose Mask. Now rose isn’t a scent I usually like, I’m quite fussy in finding a rose product I actually like but when I had a whiff, it was surprisingly sweet and ultimately, quite nice! Kate applied the mask around my cheeks to hydrate, calm and brighten. The mask contains Rosehip, aloe vera and rose petals, the perfect combination for dull and tired skin.
Finally, around my chin Kate applied the Chinese Ginseng Mask. Chin areas tend to be very dull so this mask is perfect for rejuvenating your skin around this area. This mask is very toning so I suggest to use this around your neck area too. You can instantly feel the skin tightening and once removed, feels soft and smooth. Ginseng is a product I’ve loved for years as it really does brighten your skin, I call it an espresso shot for your skin!
The masks were then washed off and I couldn’t believe how damn good my face felt. It also looked super healthy and radiant. Both myself and Kate couldn’t believe how immediate and effective the masks were with my skin!
We then cleansed my skin again and applied another brand new product, the Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Daily Solution. This stuff is genius. It’s a solution designed for blemish prone skin, to even out skin tone and stop spots for good! Again, when this was applied it enhanced my skins natural radiance and I can’t wait to see the results after a few weeks of trying this! I have such high hopes for this one.
In other news, The Body Shop are renowned for their charitable work so I’m proud to inform you all about their latest project. In partnership with Fauna and Flora International, they are providing training and education to over 500 local families where some of the tea tree is grown. This helps improve their livelihoods for a sustainable, healthy and happy future. Their help includes replanting 5000 seeds, clean water for their families and over 1 million litres of water for local rhinos. Amazing stuff.
The masks release on Tuesday 23rd August so make sure you head down to The Metro Centre, Body Shop and say hello to the lovely ladies, test the masks for yourself and check out their amazing new releases. Of course, watch this space to stay updated with all new releases and news!
