I’m a huge fan of accessorising. Decorating areas of a room is the perfect way to create personality and a finishing touch that’s both bespoke and unique. There are many ways to create this look and I’m going to walk you right through it, step by step.

First thing’s first, I start with the largest thing’s you want to put on show such as flowers, books and artwork. I love minimalistic approaches to accessorising, so I tend to stick with neutral tones and then pop in some vibrant colours to make certain things stand out. As you can see I’ve chosen some pink and white flowers, which look perfect alongside my Acne Studios bag. Re-using old bags from stores is a perfect way to create cheap, stylish features to your home.

I’ve then gone in with some artwork. If you’ve looked around my room before, I have a few pieces of art work that have been carefully selected one way or another. I’m loving this print from Bow Down, showcasing brush stroke typography and minimalism. The black frame really makes the print stand out and the quote is literally my life. Bow Down have sooooooo many prints on their website I can guarantee there is one you’ll fall in love with. Check them out here and over on Instagram.

Finally, the finishing touches. I love throwing in a favourite candle, fragrance or skincare product, things I find really both useful and functional. Let’s face it, they also look so damn good. Throw in some favourite magazines and there you have it. Simple! Trust me photos like this don’t come easily. I spend so long trying new compositions out, moving things around, putting things in and taking things out. Eventually, you’ll create your own style and it will all become your own. It won’t be long before friends and family will notice these personal touches.
