The Chelsea Boot.

Every man should have a pair of Chelsea Boots in their arsenal. They are the perfect footwear for dressing up and dressing down, finishing your outfit off with a stylish, British edge.

The Chelsea Boot typically has an elasticated side, medium heel and sometimes a loop of fabric at the back to help slip them onto your feet. Originating back to the Victorian era, Chelsea Boots were worn by both men and women, and remain to be iconic English footwear. Even Queen Victoria herself was said to spend her days in Chelsea Boots, imagine that! The boot became very popular for walking and horse riding, from it’s hard wearing design and stability on your feet.

I bought my first pair of Chelsea Boots from Zara on my trip to Paris back in 2014. They had a zip up the side rather than elastic, full leather design with a buckle and strap around the top. To this day I completely overuse this shoe, and with a few more over the years adding to my collection, it is by far my most loved footwear design. Today I have a few more on my wish list, that I can only dream to add to my collection.

The first one I am absolutely in love with is the Kurt Geiger Francis Chelsea Boot. This boot is made from suede, with a narrow top and elasticated side is a classic staple to any mens shoe collection. The simplistic design is what drew my attention to the shoe, and with the amazing reputation from Kurt Geiger, I know these shoes would last years!

Next on my lust list is the Urban Outfitters Ankle Chelsea. Ankle Chelsea’s are a slightly shorter design, typically half an inch to an inch lower than the normal height. This all leather boot is very similar to my original pair, but with an elasticated side panel rather than a zip. Again, I love the simplistic design and the two pull up loops on the front and back.

Finally, I’m totally lusting these ASOS Suede Grey Chelsea Boots. These are slightly different to any I’ve bought in the past… mainly because they aren’t black. And we all know how much I love black clothing! I love the suede design and I can see these going with so many outfits (especially black jeans, my favourite). The darkened elastic makes the side of the shoe stand out, and the back loop gives it that classic Chelsea feature. The only trouble is, suede shoes are a bitch to keep clean so if I ever get my hands on these I’d have to take extra care! The pain of fashion ey!

I hope you all liked this little wish list/info post. Let me know if you liked this type of feature in the comments below! What are your favourite shoes?
