Mothers Day ft. Jo Malone.

Jo Malone are renowned for their British inspired collections, embracing heritage in their design and fragrances, and I think they may have just launched their best collection yet.

Last week I had the chance to take a trip up to my local Boutique in York, and discover the fantastic Herb Garden collection. As always I was greeted by the lovely ladies who run the store, with a glass of fizz and a gorgeous biscuit, themed around the new fragrances. I was super excited.

The inspiration behind this collection was derived from Anna Flipo, master perfumer. With her knowledge and inspiration combined with Celine Roux, Fragrance Director… The Herb Garden was born.

Anne: Our approach was multi-dimensional at first. We talked about colour and sound; the time of day in the herb garden, the light, even how the names of each herb sounded. It was a very inspiring, very unusual way to work and one that spoke to all the senses.

Jo Malone contribute to 5 charity flower gardens around the UK, and this collection reflects the hard work the brand puts into this.

After the manager of the store told us all about the scents and ingredients in each of the new colognes, it was time for me to make my decision. It was a tough choice! My favourite out of the five was the Lavender and Coriander. This has an amazing musky scent it, with the use of English and French lavender. Natural woodiness gives a long lasting appeal that reacts individually to your skin. Myself and a lady at the event both put the same fragrance on our skin, and two wonderful yet different scents came from it. We were both amazed.

So what’s in the rest of the collection?

Lavender and Coriander

Carrot Blossom and Fennel

Wild Strawberry and Parsley

Sorrel and Lemon Thyme

Nasturtium and Clover

Such an amazing event at the boutique, and what a gorgeous collection from Jo Malone. On our departure from the store, we were all given a little box with a surprise in, which I found out at home it was a little plant pot with seed balls for you to grow your own herbs in! What an adorable little detail to end a wonderful event.

As always with these limited edition colognes, they don’t last long! So if you’re interest get yourself down to your local store now, or visit the website here. They aren’t worth missing out on!
