Skincare can be a complicated topic, especially for someone who isn’t quite aware of what’s out there in the market. Suffering from acne myself in the past, I know how frustrating it can get when high street products aren’t working, so today I have a three step routine that I can guarantee will make a difference…
Okay, I’m no dermatologist or expert in skincare, but personally I think the best recommendations are from people like you and me who have tried and tested products, and share those experiences. Any TV advert or magazine article can tell you what are the best products on the market… but they’re paid to do so. Today I’m coming to you all with honest (well trailed) advice, that I hope can help some of you out there who feel like they’ve tried everything.
Trying different brands can be daunting, and quite scary especially when you’re moving past your £5 high street limit, but from my experience (although there are some amazing high street products out there), that the higher price range can offer a better skin improvement, probably due to a better quality ingredient list. Right, enough of the babble, here are my 3 steps to improved skin!
I’ve broken my little routine into three steps, first of all starting with the Aesop Purifying Creamy Cleanser. Aesop is a brand that I love sooooooo much, and not only for their gorgeous packing, but the quality of their incredible products. This creamy cleanser is perfect for any skin type, allowing a gentle yet thorough cleanse, removing all the grease and grime either on a morning or evening. This cleanser has no harsh chemicals or acids in it, as you don’t want to over-do the treatment on your face as the next two products are designed for that. Cleansing your face is super important as you need a nice clean canvas to work on when treating blemishes and spots. This helps clarify the skin, removing all traces of makeup and other pore clogging dirt.
Once you’ve cleansed the skin, it’s time to protect it. Now I’ve tried to keep this routine as simple as I can so I’ve chosen the Estee Lauder Clear Difference Serum. This acts as a moisturiser and protective barrier on your skin, breaking the blemish circle. Infused with salicylic acid, this helps reduce the risk of breakouts, treating the spot before it breaches the surface of the skin. Although some people try to completely dry their skin out when fighting their spots, this can also back fire and your skin will produce unnecessary oils to replace the missing moisture. By introducing a product like this, your skin can remain hydrated and nourished whilst treated simultaneously.
Finally, one of my all time ‘swear by‘ products to complete the routine, the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion. I literally have no words for this product. It is absolutely incredible. I’ve recommended this to so many people and they have been so amazed with the results, just as I am still. Using a cotton bud, dot the pink solution onto existing and forming spots/blemishes and by morning they are near enough vanished. It’s incredible. The solution again uses salicylic acid to fight the bacteria and also protect the skin as well. Using these three steps, I’m for certain you will see dramatic improvements in your skin.
Let me know in the comments your swear by products.
