I love a good old moisturiser. Having combination skin I get really dry areas around my cheeks due to the weather and seasons, these areas get better and worse at different times of the year. However! I have some great moisturisers in my stash of skincare that work perfect at different times of the year, to fight the battle of the dryness.
When looking for moisturisers in Spring, I try to go for something that can really help recover the damage caused from the winter weather. There is nothing better than the Aesop Mandarin Facial Hydration Cream (£33). This is perfect for restoring that natural glow the warmer weather brings out as well as repairing broken and cracked skin. I have being using this moisturiser for around 2 years now and I really don’t get tired of it. It smells absolutely amazing and lasts so long. It’s the most expensive one out of the bunch however it’s packed with benefiting ingredients such as citrus-oils and lemon peel to keep skin looking refreshed.
For the summer, I need something that’s very light weight that sinks straight into my skin. There’s nothing worse than feeling completely greasy and tacky when the sun is out. For this I love using the Origins Ginzing Moisturiser (£23). I have recently pulled this out of my stash and I’m now on my 3rd tub of this. It smells absolutely amazing and only a little bit of product is required to moisturise and hydrate your entire face. As it is caffeine enriched, this helps boost your natural appearance evening skin tone and making you look a lot more… well… alive! Love it.
So as the weather is starting to get a little bit colder but with warm spells still occurring (god I feel like I’m on the Weather report) I need something a little thicker in texture but still smooth enough to sink into my skin. I love using the Murdock London Daily Moisturiser (£26). Now don’t be put off ladies with it being categorised as a Mens moisturiser, because it works fantastic at keeping skin looking smooth and nourished. I have also been using this product for around 2 years now and I still have plenty left. I really want to dig deep into the Murdock London brand and purchase a few more of their products to try out.
Finally winter. I like to use a very thick moisturiser that I know will last all day long. When I’m waking around University a lot of it is outdoors, and using the Korres Wild Rose Moisturiser (£20), I know the wind won’t dry it out. This heavy, thick, cream based moisturiser is perfect for winter hydration and keeping your skin looking fresh and plump during the cold months. This is also a fantastic cream to mix facial oils with. I mentioned a few months ago my tip for mixing facial oils with moisturisers for a more even spread, and this one works perfect to blend with the oils.
