No. 004 | Skincare | Clinique 3-Step System

Hey Everyone,

As I mentioned in my previous post I was going to do a short review on the amazing Clinique 3-Step System. I also mentioned that when I was young I had really bad acne and I had tried many routines and skin care products on the market, including cheaper brands such as Simple and Clean&Clear. These products kept my skin hydrated but didn’t take away any of the redness or scaring.

Throughout the years I also tried many different forms of prescription medication for acne in the form of liquid medicine, tablets, creams, gels and lotions but these still never took away the marking acne had left on my skin.

This is when I came across Clinique. I had heard a lot about them but to me they always seemed to be a women’s high end, expensive brand more to do with anti-ageing creams and serums. However, when I dug a little deeper, I was looking at many reviews and recommendations from people, saying the 3-Step system was the best on the market, so I decided to give it a go.

This three step system is a great day to day skin care routine that actually gives great results from the start. First of all you wash your face with the Clinique Facial Soap. This is a great product even for sensitive skin. For best results I splash my face with warm water then slowly massage the gel into my face around the most affected areas (in my case the T zone) then wash it off and pat dry with a towel.

Next is the Clinique Clarifying Lotion. There are 4 different types of this depending on your skin type ranging from very dry to very oily. My skin type is dry in some areas but oily in others so I fit into the number 2 category. This is a very common skin type so most people are around number 2 or number 3. To use this I apply some of the lotion onto some cotton wool and wipe around my face covering all areas and creases. This is the stage where you can see dramatic differences, firstly on the cotton wool as you can see all the dirt that was originally on your face, and also the glow the lotion gives you.

Lastly, you apply the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion. This can either come as a lotion (creamy and silky texture) or a Gel (Oil free and smooth feel). This adds to the natural glow of your skin and protects it during the day. This kit can last up to 8 months, some pushing a year depending on the amount of each product you use so it is defiantly worth the money.

All together the kit can be bought for around £50 depending on the sizes of the products you decide to buy but here are the break downs of the ones I have.

Step 1: Facial Wash 200ml – £15.50

Step 2: Clarifying Lotion 400ml – £25.00

Step 3: Dramatically Different Moisturiser 125ml – £28.00

If you don’t fancy paying this price yet until you’ve tried out the product they also do a starter kit which is only £20.00. Which can be found here: Intro Kit

I hope this review is helpful and again I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to keep their skin looking healthy and blemish free!
